Emily Högl (1999) is a photographer based in Groningen, The Netherlands. She graduated from Minerva Art Academy in 2022 with a bachelor of Design and has pursued as a freelance photographer since then.

Her work explores perception and identity, often focusing on how environments shape emotional and sensory experience for the subject, translating this through her lens. Her visual language feels intimate, even in the most restless places.

Snapshots of stillness in the eye of a storm.

Högl’s photographic work reveals a strong preference to light, texture and atmosphere. She captures scenes that sometimes blur the line between documentation and abstraction, often emphasizing themes around ambiguity. Through this approach, she invites viewers to slow down and engage with the quiet complexity of perception, encouraging a more intuitive and embodied way of seeing. And hopefully, maybe even looking within themselves for a brief moment.
